FacesTrace 0.9.0 is Released To Trace JSF Applications


FacesTrace 0.9.0, developed by Civici and Fella Yigit Darcinhas, has been released. FacesTrace is an open-source library that is used to display visual tracing for JavaServer Faces (JSF) applications.

Other than the trace/debug features the library also has an educational value on the learning process of JSF itself. It displays times for JSF phases, as well as variables for the page, log messages, faces messages, and the component tree.

Key features of FacesTrace 0.9.0 are as follows:
  • Completely rewritten presentation from scratch
  • Refactored and improved the way for accessing and displaying jsf variables
  • Several minor bugfixes
  • Replaced net.sf package with com.prime
  • Created an example web application
  • Add built-in Facelets support
  • Create renderer for Trace component
  • Removed showTree attribute
  • Redesigned project website
